Research indicates that the greatest benefit is seen when all of the oil is in its most natural form, because of all of the different factors present in it. But, purity must be verified by laboratory analysis. The oils from some fish are contaminated with mercury and cancer-causing PCB. Molecular distillation is required to remove them, which removes the x-factor and diminishes the omega3 content.

The benefits of fish oil are numerous. They include a reduced risk of heart disease, stroke, type II diabetes and cancer. They are beneficial for skin, joint and eye health, as well as the brain.
