A migraine headache is the worst kind of headache. If you have not experienced a migraine headache or if you are unfamiliar, a migraine headache not only hurts your head, but also affects your co ordination and consciousness drastically, and you always need to rest and lie down to take your mind of it as quickly as possible.

Typically most migraine sufferers have to try and get through it without any treatment as many doctors and specialists don't seem to have a reliable and legitimate cure. It seems there is no definitive cure except to wait until it passes and then keep going with their life. What I'm about to tell you can prevent and stop a migraine headache dead in its tracks.

If you experience migraine headaches regularly the best way to remedy them is prevention. A migraine can be sudden and painful, and the best way to ensure you can prevent it is to acknowledge and recognize the warning signs prior to it happening.

If you can effectively recognize the minor symptoms prior to it happening you can reduce the time that it lasts for. A great tip is as soon you are experiencing the minor symptoms, immediately stop all of the tasks you are doing and try to breathe deeply and relax your mind and body as soon as possible. Try to eliminate all of your background noise of where you are and find a quiet spot to relax. This is very effective in anticipating and preventing your migraine from starting, and most of the time reduces the pain and the intensity of the migraine if it happens.

In addition to the prevention tactics mentioned above, you can also stop migraines when you notice the warning signs by using a simple and effective trick. To reduce the sinus pressure to your head and the migraine, pinch the top of your nose between the eyes and connecting area to your skull. This reduces pressure to your head prior to the migraine beginning, effectively eliminating the possibility of having migraine altogether. It can also lower the intensity of a migraine effectively as well if you are in the middle of suffering from one.

Migraine prevention is the best way to anticipate and prevent migraines from happening so always make an effort to recognize the warning signals and use the tactics above to stop and eliminate all of your migraine headaches.
